CPAW Congratulates James Macy and David Prouty on Senate Confirmation to the NLRB
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Coalition to Protect American Workers (CPAW) congratulates James Macy and David Prouty on their confirmation by the United States Senate to serve as Members of the National Labor Relations Board. With their confirmation, the Board is now fully seated and operational, with the quorum and the majority needed to act.
American workers have waited long enough. Biden-era policies at the NLRB tilted the playing field, stripped employers of their ability to share information with workers, allowed union leadership to freeze elections through procedural blocking charges, and, through the Cemex decision, made it possible to impose union representation on workers without a secret-ballot vote. The Board now has the votes to reverse that damage.
CPAW urges the Board to get to work immediately on the three issues that have caused the greatest direct harm to American workers:
Blocking charges: Union leadership used procedural filings to freeze elections indefinitely, including votes to leave a union, when the outcome looked unfavorable. Workers, not union leadership, should decide when and whether they vote.
Cemex bargaining orders: The Biden NLRB made it possible to certify a union without workers ever casting a ballot. No worker should have representation imposed on them without the most fundamental democratic protection: the right to vote.
Employer Meetings on Unionization: The Biden NLRB effectively banned employers from sharing their perspective with workers while union organizers faced no equivalent restriction. Workers making one of the most consequential decisions of their professional lives deserve to hear from both sides.

"A fully functioning Board with a working majority means the era of Biden's weaponized NLRB is finally over. The Board must move quickly and deliver the reforms that workers were promised. The Board is seated. The mandate is clear. It's time to get to work."
